### Instructions and Help about When Form 843 Calculators

In this video we're going to look at powers and Exponential's on the TI 30x a as with everything in this calculator is somewhat awkward and clumsy so hope this tutorial will help you get your head around how this work let's start with finding 2 cubed so to do this we're needing to use this white the X button here so we're going to and press Y to the X and then 3 equals we should get 8 2 times 2 times 2 is of course 8 okay so that's how to do powers other than 2 or 1 or minus 1 rather there are some built-in powers here if you look on this row you get 1 over X you've got x squared and root X so that's the power of minus 1 squared and the power of 1/2 so for example 9 square root you get 3 or you could do maybe that 3 squared 1 over 9 so you can use these buttons to do it somewhat quicker ok onto Exponential's you will find the exponential of something you just type in the number and then the exponential function so the number always comes first when you're doing the powers ok so let's just find e to the 1 so that is of course e so press 1 and then second function e to the X and that gives us 2.718 and you should know that that's e so there you have it that's how it would do the basic power so just to recap these are your quick functions power minus 1 squared and the square roots the power of 1/2 for any other power you're using y to the X and you also have the exponential which is the second function on the Ln or natural logarithm button okay so hopefully powers and exponential powers and the exponential function make more sense to you hopefully this has been helpful and thank you for watching
